Is CBD safe for dogs?

The two main active components in marijauna are THC (more accurately : delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) and  CBD (also known as cannabidiol).  THC is not safe for dogs, it can be toxic for dogs, and forcing your dog to get high is very cruel and irresponsible. While THC is toxic to dogs, CBD derived from hemp is not.

CBD oil which has been extracted from hemp contains around 0.3% or less of THC. This small amount of THC has been shown to be safe and non toxic in dogs. There still needs to be further studies on longer periods of time, to determine if there are any negative consequences over prolonged periods of time, but it the meantime, anecdotal evidence shows us that CBD for dogs is relatively safe.
