Types of culture for an indoor Cannabis plant

So, what kind of culture should you use for your plants?

There are 3 main types of culture types that we will Go over: One Bud, SOG and  Scrog

SCROG

Wondering what is SCROG?
SCROG stands for Screen Of Green. The idea here is to have “multiple” Apex’s on one plan. This is achieved by guiding the plant on a screen during it’s growth stage. This allows multiple branches to have a direct access to the light source, thus giving it more energy

What are the pro’s and con’s of doing a Screen Of Green?

The pro’s:
  • You maximise the use of your space with a small number of plants
  • Less plants to take care of
  • Higher render per plant than any other technique
The con’s:
  • The length of the growth period is longer
  • Once the screen is set you will not be able to move your plants
  • Not compatible with auto-flowering seeds

One Bud

What is the One Bud technique? Basically the idea here is to cut all side branches of your plant, keeping only the Apex.
This allows all the energy of you plan to focus on its main flower.

What are the pro’s and con’s of One Bud?

The pro’s:
  • You can have much more plants in any given space
  • Your buds will be MASSIVE
The con’s:
  • Each plan will render less flowers at harvest time
  • You’ll have more plants to take care of

SOG

What’s all the fuss around the Sea Of Green?
As the name says it, the idea is to fill up as much of the space as possible with plants.  Here you won’t cut off all the side branches, although most of them will have to go…

What are the pro’s and con’s of doing a Sea of Green?

The pro’s:
  • You maximise the use of your space
  • Your buds will be nice and dense
  • High render at the end of flowering
The con’s:
  • Your plants don’t have much room to breath and grow
  • You’ll have more plants to take care of
