A 2020 review highlighting pre-clinical research using animal models exhibiting fear and anxiety-like behaviors indicates that CBD has anxiolytic, antistress, anti-compulsive effects. That same review also highlights research on humans that suggests that CBD might have anxiolytic effects.

What is CBD?

CBD is a natural compound from the marijuana or hemp plant, depending on the type of CBD.
